Mobile for Training (MofA)

Increasing motivation for dual training among young people with an immigration background

“MofA” is part of the project network of Entrepreneurs without Borders as project sponsor and the Association of Self-Employed Migrants eV as sub-project partner.

The aim of the "Mobil für Ausbildung (MofA)" project is to inspire young immigrants and the young descendants of immigrants to participate in dual vocational training and to increase their motivation during the transition from school to vocational training. The focus is on key people from the young people's immediate environment, such as parents, relatives, community members, teaching staff, or trainers. These people are sensitized and empowered in their role as advisors during the school-to-work transition. In low-threshold training sessions, the key people are prepared for their work with the young people and equipped with the latest know-how. This enables them to support the young people's self-determined career choices and to demonstrate the various career opportunities within the dual system.

“MofA” uses “mobile teams” in the project implementation: The trained contact persons pass on their newly acquired knowledge on the topic of vocational training to other people in the young people’s environment, so that the topic of training is spread further.

The project cooperates with the Youth Employment Agency, the Employment Agency, the Hamburg Chamber of Crafts, the Hamburg Sports Association as well as migrant communities and migrant parents' associations.

The project works closely with the KAUSA regional office in Hamburg and mediates through this in cooperation with the Youth Employment Agency and the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce directly to training companies.

The offer is available in the following Hamburg districts: Billstedt, Mümmelmannsberg, Horn, Wandsbek, Dulsberg, Barmbek-Nord
