Integrating families in the long term (FAMILANI)
The goal of the "Long-Term Integration of Families (FAMILANI)" project is to provide on-site advice and coaching to refugee families, successfully placing their members in the job and training market and providing long-term support. Individualized concepts are developed and implemented jointly for each family member. Parents with foreign professional qualifications are encouraged to have these recognized. Career guidance programs—trial days and internship opportunities—are also offered to facilitate entry into the job or training market, or to maintain or restore employability. For this purpose, the project engages small and medium-sized migrant and non-migrant businesses in the retail and catering sectors. These are advised on issues relating to hiring refugees, recruited as employers, and supported during their training or employment.
For young people, the project supports the transition from school to work with the goal of placing them in vocational training. The project supports and accompanies participants in social and immigration law matters throughout the entire process—even after they enter vocational training or employment. This ensures long-term integration.
Interested families are recruited in refugee shelters and community centers. Counseling is provided in local facilities close to their homes. The prerequisite for support is a secure (residence permit) or insecure residence status (permission, toleration). "FAMILANI" is a sub-project within Network “LABORATORY at the Refugee Site Hamburg” within the framework of the program "WE create career prospects”.
The project “Integrating Families in the Long Term (FAMILANI)” is implemented within the framework of the “WE create career prospects” through the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs and the European Union on the European Social Fund Plus (ESF Plus) promoted.
